Chris Broussard comments and the twitter-verse

What was said. ... this is a link to YouTube to see exactly what Chris said.
ESPN reporter Chris Broussard discussed his opinions on homosexuality, pre-martial sex between heterosexuals and other things in relation to what he believes to mean a Christian on a TV programme, after  NBA's Jason Collins came out as gay.
Whilst on the air was probably not the best place to give his views, I see no issue in them. What annoys me is the reaction on twitter by people stating that he specifically aimed what he said at Jason Collins when that is not the case at all. With even Christine Quinn, the speaker of New York City council and concil member of the 3rd district stating that "Appalled 's statements criticizing for coming out. His hateful remarks have no place in our society"
They are just looking at the homosexual comment and not anything else that was said by him. Chris has his views on religion, which he is entitled to and should be tolerated by people like they are saying he should tolerate homosexuals. Surely it can not be had both ways.
People need to understand what was said before jumping on what they see as the politically correct bandwagon in supporting homosexuality.
I am an atheist and therefore do not agree with what Chris said, but ripping into him as much as people have on Twitter is uncalled for when they clearly haven't even seen or understood what he said. This is another case of why idiots shouldn't be given a public forum to give their opinion in. Which could possibly be said about myself too.
